Gods' Chosen
If this has been brought up before ignore.
I was reading the scriptures of the gods and all of them have their "chosen" named apart from balthazar.
Lyssa- Sara
Melandru - Ewan
Grenth- Desmina
Dwayna- Doric
Abaddon- Jadoth
but no one for Balthazar. I'm wondering is this intentional ? Somehow we have to find it out or wait for GW2.

He doesnt actually need a chosen steward. Balthazar is the god of war - war leaves little room for single heroes. He also has his Eternals aswell as a guild dedicated to him - the other gods dont have that.
Perhaps the reason for him not having a steward is because he was elsewere - the other gods as far as we know didnt have a constant nemisis hiding in the background aka Menzies. Or it could be that war happened so many times, there was nothing a single steward could do.

maybe because war could happen everywhere and anywhere and war doesnt really need someone to "spread" it it spreads by itself.

i think that it is because war itself is balthazar's chosen, and he doesn't need a single person

I think it's going to be unanimous in the guru's thoughts on this. He didn't need a single chosen one, he had all of the warriors.
But I'll add on a few additional thoughts. Fighting, unlike healing, Necromancy, Mesmerizing, and the rest of magic, doesn't need special talent, aka magic. Unlike the rest of the core professions, Warriors are a one of a kind in that they don't need anything special, anyone can be a warrior. In fact, everyone that doesn't have a profession is a warrior - proven by oh so non-profession NPCs carrying [[Healing Signet].
Balthazar, being the god who's chosen profession requires no magic, cannot choose an individual and give that person magic per say because there is no magic in the warrior profession to give.
And as for pyromancers, you cannot very well say Balthazar gave out fire to man. That would make him more important than others because he would then control the profession unless Dwayna, Grenth, Melandru, and Lyssa each were said to give their aspect of the elementalist profession - would leads to not enough space for a single passage in their scriptures.
The reason why I italicized the "single passage" is to emphasize the point that what we know of the scriptures is not a whole, and Balthazar could have his "chosen" of the elementalist instead of warrior profession in another part of the scriptures.

Actually when i read the scripture again i see that Balthazar does seem to have a chosen - however its a group and they are not named.

So being the god of war perhaps he actually has a group of chosen rather than a single person. And perhaps that group would eventually become the Zaishen and Eternals?

No? i see someone saying his chosen is War itself, myself and someone saying he did not need a chosen at all and you saying his chosen are warriors in general....
I'm saying the group he was talking about in the scriptures are the/like the Zaishen.....
Or to simplify it: His chosen is not war itself, is not all warriors in general, but the actual group of people who were in the scriptures.

Eh, I took "war itself" and "war leaves little room for single heroes" as groups of heroic warriors.
And I didn't mean warriors in general - or else all Necromancers would be the chosen of Grenth, Monks of Dwayna, etc. etc. Which, in my opinion, for the True Gods, they only have chosen prior to the exodus (at least, there are no mentions of chosen prior to that). And that, to me, chosen means given magic in a world where magic was not common-base.
